Nadia
Schreiner

Luxembourgish artist · Founder of Painting Journeys

Pop Art, Minimalism and Surrealism, fused into a signature visual language. Nadia Schreiner creates works that are playful and powerful at once — and she passes on her technique in intimate workshops where art becomes accessible at every level.

A visual language between Pop Art and stillness

Nadia Schreiner is a Luxembourgish artist whose work strikes a remarkable balance: between the bold expression of Pop Art, the restraint of Minimalism, and the playful imagery of Surrealism. Her animal and plant motifs — flamingos, peacocks, giraffes, bouquets — are never just depictions; they become independent characters with their own energy.

She has developed her career as an artist consistently over many years, with exhibitions, commissioned works, and a growing circle of collectors. Today she lives and works in Luxembourg and runs her workshop format Painting Journeys — art journeys in which she passes her technique and philosophy on to small groups.

In the Private Art Retreat at Hochkönig, this experience comes together in a particularly exclusive form: four days of workshop in a luxury chalet, all-inclusive, with an attention to each participant that simply isn't possible in larger formats.

Three influences, one signature

Pop Art brings the strong colours and clarity of form — flat, precise, unafraid of complementary contrast. Minimalism provides the discipline: every superfluous element disappears; what remains has to earn its place. And Surrealism opens the room for play — the flamingo in the bathtub, the giraffe in a sea of flowers.

The material is consistently acrylic on canvas — a technique that dries quickly, can be painted over, layered and mixed. These properties make it the ideal teaching technique: beginners can correct mistakes immediately, while advanced painters experiment without time pressure.

Art is accessible to everyone

What makes Nadia's workshops special is a disarmingly simple attitude: anyone can paint. It's not about delivering a technically perfect picture — it's about finding your own voice and giving it form in acrylic.

In the retreat format, Nadia shares composition, colour mixing and her personal tricks — and stands next to you in every phase. The small group size isn't a marketing phrase but a prerequisite: only then can each participant truly be supported individually.

"Art shouldn't intimidate anyone. When someone says at the end of a retreat: 'I never thought this was possible' — then I've done my job."
